BALOCHISTAN FOOD FESTIVAL | 10 MUST TRY DISHES

When we say Pakistan, many people think about the negative aspects. But, at The 3 Hungry Men, as soon as someone says Pakistan we being drooling. Yes, they have some of the most amazing dishes there, not to mention the region of Balochistan where good food is a way of life.


    But getting good Balochi food in South India is definitely a distant dream. As we all know that Ocean Pearl is known for their innovative food fests, this time they again decided to give us something unheard of in Mangalore. The Balochistan Food Festival. There are quite a few dishes worth trying, but the ones that come on top are as follows:

    1. Tukmalanga Ka Sharbath

    Sounds exotic right? It’s a simple concoction of mint and lime juice with a hefty helping of Khus seeds, known to give a very cooling effect to the body.


    1. Shorba

      A quintessential soup in the Mughlai world. Try the Mutton or Palak Shorba and be prepared to get surprised.

      1. Irani Prawns

      Prawns marinated with Jeera, Chilli, secret spices and grilled to perfection. This is a must try dish for the fish lovers.

      1. Murgh Seena Kabab

      Chicken Breast stuffed with Cheese and Mince and cooked in the Dum, this is definitely something new and wholesome.

      1. Dudiya Kabab

      Mashed Veggies and nuts served in between a bed of Paneer, and yes, it’s as tasty as it sounds. A heaven for vegetarians.

      1. Murgh Kushk Purdah


      The Chicken Tikka is first grilled and then tossed in an assortment of vegetables and then in gravy. The mixture is then covered and cooked in a dum, true Balochi style.

      1. Aloo Bukhara Kofta



      Veggies, prunes and almonds stuffed in a potato served with gravy, for those of you who love a little bit of sweetness, this is your dish.
      1. Mash Qaliya

      This is another must try dish with a mixture of Moong and spinach drizzled with different spices and topped with brown onion and slow cooked to bring out this master piece.

      1. Naan / Paratha

      Do try the Naan Khummach or Ulta Tava Paratha and be lost in a new bliss as these preparations are truly rich and taste heavenly when accompanied with the gravy.
